Mission Ministry and Dallas Cowboy Foundation to Host 1st Annual
Thanksgiving Basket Giveaway in Southeast Fort Worth
(Fort Worth, Texas) – (November 07, 2011) – The Robert Manning Mission Ministry of
the Greater Friendship Missionary Baptist Church and the FJ2 Felix Jones
Foundation will partner on November 19, 2011 in hosting the first annual
“Community Thanksgiving Basket Giveaway” in Southeast Fort Worth on the 1600
block of E. Powell Avenue.
The Community Thanksgiving Basket Giveaway will take
place on Saturday, November 19, 2011 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. Person
interested in participating in the event or would like to provide a
donation/sponsorship should call 817-220- . Donations of non-perishable items and turkeys and hams are still
being accepted.
“We are pleased and proud to be a part of such a
broad-based effort on behalf of such a worthy cause,” said Parish E. Lowery,
Pastor of the Greater Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. “It is
important to us to be a leader and make a contribution in the community.”
The Robert Manning Mission Ministry was established in
February of 2011. The ministry was named in honor of Robert Manning who was a
strong advocate of helping others. The community that the event will take place
in is the old neighborhood of Mr. Manning. This is the first year for the
ministry to go into the community and give to those who are possibly in need
this holiday season. The mission ministry currently serves dinner to the youth
of the ACH Homeless Shelter, located off of Summit Avenue, every third Wednesday of the month.
